This GTA V journal will focus on the "other side" of GTA V the actual "living" world created by Rockstar.

Art exhibit of Animals in Blaine County?
This art collaborative in Santa Cruz made me think of what an art show might look like of animals found in Blaine County!
Real Life Grafitti Santa Cruz Style
While viewing a number of art studios this weekend I came across this work of art right by the train tracks and couldn't help but think about GTA V!

The People of Los Santos
Driving from Great Chaparral I did some people watching and notice the variety of people Rockstar has created. I was impressed to see the hipsters, homeless, city folks depending on the locations around town!
It was also impressive to see the amount of people on their smart phones and even people who are sick coughing and even wiping their noses!

Oh the places we go!
I feel like I've scene so much and have experienced a lot of GTA V! However when seeing the map it is clear that I have only scratched the surface by exploring the western coastal half to Paleto Bay!
What a fun time exploring and how surprising to see the unexplored world of GTA V!
Paleto Forest
Exploring Paleto Forest was a lot of fun! Running into so many things including getting to drive through a tree as you can in Northern CA!
A Day at Paleto Bay
After getting out of the community clinic it only made sense to relax and head to the beach! Paleto Bay offered a whole host of things to do including testing out the 4x4 quad bike, mountain biking, and watching the sunset!
I guess bikers don't like us hitting on their girlfriend! Oops! Haha!
How the Others Live
Last night I began driving on PCH and couldn't help to think about how Rockstar captured the distinct differences of the rich and poor. This is as far as I made it heading north on PCH before being killed by a truck!
The next part of the journey began in the community clinic which allowed me to explore another part of the world!
Coastal Drive
I decided to initially drive from downtown around the entire border of the map in a full circle! The idea was good but not successful. I got distracted and ended up getting hit while crossing what would be the real PCH.
The truck that hit me rolled over me and I got "wasted"... After arriving at a community clinic I found my self in such a new part of the world that I had to explore by foot.
Although I didn't make from downtown all the way west and around the world, I did make it to Paleto Bay! After looking at the map I realize just how far or really how not that far I got or have seen from this unbelievable game! I headed back south toward Paleto Forest and Chiliad Mountain and tram!
I am amazed at how beautiful this game is and was shocked to see that only half of the perimeter of this works was touched!
Loving GTA V!!!

Following ambulances and fire trucks!
My first disappointment with GTA V is that after following an ambulance with their signal whaling I hoped to see the ambulance stop and take someone to the hospital! However, the ambulance I followed did make turns until it got stuck in an endless loop around the airport!
Hoping that it might have been a fluke and that after following another ambulance or firefighter in the near future I'll see a blaze being taken care of or a life being saved!
Street Art
The graffiti that is sprawled across Los Santos is not to be missed! Waking and running over 13 miles has allowed me the opportunity to wonder around and come across amazing street art!
Signs Signs Everywhere Signs...
The billboard advertisements across Los Santos has been humorous and realistic. I strongly encourage anyone playing GTA V to take the time to walk the streets and appreciate and spend time seeing the city! You won't be disappointed and you'll even easily gain stamina!
South Los Santos to Vespucci
The low income or homeless experienced by reality of many from South Los Santos to Vespucci was well documented. Rockstar truly exposes the harsh reality of the streets and neighborhoods that are gritty and real.
The streets...
Nothing like walking the streets to get to know the neighborhood and a sense of the community! I continued my journey with walking and have now walked 13 miles around the neighborhood and ended my day toward the Pacific Ocean!
This journey has allowed me to appreciate the graffiti and signs that were so thoughtly created to allow the communities to have a true sense of the lives of those living within these districts!
Walking! Not running...
As I began my journey & adventure in GTA V I became amazed and overwhelmed with the amount of detail and size of world Rockstar created. The world seems to be truly alive and breathing!
My interest in the GTA series as an "old skool" gamer back to the days of pong is to see how far the industry has come with developing open world games or simulations! Although I would considers self an old skool gamer I am not a truly avid gamer since I don't have time to play video games as much today as I did in the past!

The Real Los Santos!
"Imagine a city full of people ruthlessly pursuing wealth, fame and self-improvement, at any cost? Where everyone you met was either a celebrity, trying to be a celebrity, or used to be a celebrity? Where nature's bounty meant you could enjoy perfect weather all year round? Where the air was so good you could literally see and taste it? Dare to dream, because that city exists..."

Exploring GTA
Welcome to The Other Side of Los Santos, CA
I was impressed to see how Rockstar integrated the reality of poverty in Los Santos! Like any large city or even small cities today across the U.S. and the world poverty exists and is a real part of society. I hope to be able to explore how Rockstar includes all levels and facets of people.
